The Dades valley

Often abandoned in favour of a more modern housing, some of them are in real danger of ending up in ruins. Such is the case of impressive Kasbahs like those at el Kabbabe, Aïchil Dar, Dar Ait Souss and Amerhidil.

The Skoura palm grove, founded in the 12th century by Yacoub el Mansour, is an island of greenery you cannot miss. The Oued Ouarzazate and Amerhidil irrigate many date, fig, and almond crops, and here you can discover the best dates in Morocco. It is also the winter refuge for many migratory birds. There are also many Kasbahs, like the ones at Amredil and Ben Moro. Then the road leads to the most beautiful rose gardens in the valley.

From Boumalne, the valley narrows and the vegetation becomes scarcer as you enter the gorges of Dades.
